It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas | Holiday Keepsake Session | Brentwood, CA Family Photography

This year, I decided to offer something a little different for holiday portraits. Instead of the posed holiday card shots, I wanted to capture the traditions that are shared by families during the holiday season.

I had a great time with the Richmond Family, as they decorated gingerbread houses. And what gingerbread house making is complete without some yummy hot chocolate?

You’re Gonna Be | Newborn Lifestyle Photography | San Francisco Bay Area

How handsome is this little man? After doing his mama’s maternity photos, I couldn’t wait to meet him! I’m pretty sure that he couldn’t be more loved, by his parents and siblings, both.

I was completely delighted to take family portraits of Jen and Jose, and their adorable daughters! We scheduled the session for Big Break Regional Shoreline, out in Oakley. It was my first time there, and I can’t wait to go back!

Kara & Dane | Discovery Bay Engagement Photography

Sometimes, reaching out works in your favor.

Kara posted in a local Facebook group, searching for wedding vendors for her 2016 wedding. Recently engaged, she was looking to find tried and true suggestions from other locals. Being new to the area, I hesitated and watched people tag a bunch of photographers in the area, but then decided why not? I let her know that I would be messaging her about my photography, and I did. We chatted for a short bit, but then I didn’t hear anything back for awhile. I chalked it up to she and her fiance finding another photographer that they felt was a better fit.
Fast forward to about a month ago, and I got an email from her, saying that she’d be interested in meeting me. We set a time, and somehow I managed to bumble my way through the consultation. Haha. She and Dane loved my work, but the thing that really blows my mind is…I was the ONLY one to actually reach out to her with a message. I’m glad that I was able to prove, from the very beginning, that I run my business in a more personal manner, and I care about the people I work with.

Anyway, they wanted to get their engagement photos done ASAP, since they needed to get their Save the Dates out. No problem! Bicycles built for two, boats, sunsets on the California Delta, and….Oh. Did I mention that Kara has a broken leg? You would never know it, from the way they rocked their session!

Kolina Family | Alviso Adobe | Extended Family Session

I love it when the whole family gets together. I love it even more when they get together for a family photo session! This sweet family had photos done for their dad’s birthday. If you ask me, that’s a gift that keeps on giving.

Bella & Luna | Fur Babies | Lakeville Family Photography

As soon as I knew that I’d be headed to MA for a visit, I figured I should try to schedule some sessions while I was there. Angel and Steve are members of my dad’s church, and they contacted me right away to tell me they were interested in having photos done with their doggies, Luna (the German Shepherd Dog) and Bella (the Boston Terrier). I was super excited (and also a little nervous)! I had never done pet portraits before, other than my own crazy animals. What if the dogs didn’t like me?

Luckily, the dogs liked me fine, and any nervousness I had been feeling completely evaporated as I got to love on these adorable fur babies. There were even some canine shenanigans. It was a great time!Blackburn_01_WEBBlackburn_10 Read More

Called to Serve | Ordination | East Freetown Congregational Christian Church

Before I share anything else from my trip back home to Massachusetts (and I’ve got a LOT to share), I’ve got to share the #1 reason I was there to begin with.
After working in youth and family ministry for years, then being called as Pastor of the East Freetown Congregational Christian Church 14 years ago, my daddy finally received his ordination as a minister in the Congregational church. He has worked hard and long, walking in Christ’s path, and while it may not have always been easy, he never gave up.
I was so blessed to have been able to be there for such a special occasion. It was absolutely amazing to see him surrounded by his colleagues, all of whom wanted to know, “What took you so long?” Incredible love.

A Family | Summer Sunshine | Brentwood, CA

How cute is this family? I met Kati through an impromptu meet-up for the moms in my neighborhood. She’s also a fellow “mompreneur” with Stella & Dot. I was super excited when she contacted me to have her family photographed during my Summer Sunshine Mini Sessions, AND they brought their adorable pup! Thanks, you guys!

L Family | Summer Sunshine | Brentwood, CA

Another Summer Sunshine Mini Session! I loved working with this family! Their boys were an absolute blast, and Karen and Randy have a great sense of humor, which is good, since I like to laugh (and make people laugh). That being said, I think the coolest part was the kind woman riding her horse on the trail, letting each of the boys have a turn sitting on him. So cool!

M Family | Summer Sunshine | Lodi, CA

Jacqueline fell in love with West 12 Ranch the minute I told her about it. Her mom kept horses, so it definitely had significance to her. What a great location to photograph their family session! How about that truck, right? The kids loved the swing and the horses, and the horses loved photobombing our photos. Luckily, nobody seemed to mind!
