Sometimes, reaching out works in your favor.
Kara posted in a local Facebook group, searching for wedding vendors for her 2016 wedding. Recently engaged, she was looking to find tried and true suggestions from other locals. Being new to the area, I hesitated and watched people tag a bunch of photographers in the area, but then decided why not? I let her know that I would be messaging her about my photography, and I did. We chatted for a short bit, but then I didn’t hear anything back for awhile. I chalked it up to she and her fiance finding another photographer that they felt was a better fit.
Fast forward to about a month ago, and I got an email from her, saying that she’d be interested in meeting me. We set a time, and somehow I managed to bumble my way through the consultation. Haha. She and Dane loved my work, but the thing that really blows my mind is…I was the ONLY one to actually reach out to her with a message. I’m glad that I was able to prove, from the very beginning, that I run my business in a more personal manner, and I care about the people I work with.
Anyway, they wanted to get their engagement photos done ASAP, since they needed to get their Save the Dates out. No problem! Bicycles built for two, boats, sunsets on the California Delta, and….Oh. Did I mention that Kara has a broken leg? You would never know it, from the way they rocked their session!
